What If It’s Not a Line?
by Kathy McConnell, Certified Advanced Rolfer®, Rolf Movement® Practitioner

If, in your mind
you’re looking for a line,
that’s what you’ll find.
A better name for this place
might be space.
It’s also a flow,
as in “gravity flows through.”
How about stream?
A stream of consciousness
activated by awareness.
Maybe a cord,
a connecting cord,
as in umbilical cord.
This space undulates.
It undulates with lemniscate
housing the snake
of the spine.
We are space
walking through space
navigating, negotiating
space.
It’s not a “thing.”
It’s a non-thing.
It’s a non-line,
so don’t call it a line
